Hey Shorty,
The dog that lives next door to us barks
incessantly. This frequently sets our dogs off too. We yell at them to
stop but they won’t. What can we do?

Dear Annoyed Neighbor,
Yelling is the most common mistake people make when
trying to get dogs to stop barking. This only makes matters worse, the dogs
just think that you are barking too. My other suggestion is a product by
PetSafe called an
Outdoor Ultrasonic Bark Deterrent .
| We used to have a very aggressive and mean dog next to
us that would bark and even try to bite at us through the fence. Mom
hung up the Bark deterrent in the back yard (it looks like a birdhouse)
and the dog stays away and stays quiet most of the time. The unit emits
a high pitched ultrasonic tone that only dogs can hear, so when the dog
barks he associates the bark with an unpleasant noise. Our neighborhood
is peaceful once again; maybe it could help you too. |
